Imperiale Racing back on track for the Italian GT Endurance 2019 Championship in Vallelunga

12.09.2019 – The second half of the Italian GT Endurance 2019 Championship is about to get underway and Imperiale Racing is gearing up for the penultimate round of the season that will take place in Vallelunga this coming weekend.

The Italian team is currently fighting for the win in the overall and Pro-Am classifications and will field the two Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 Evo that have already been shining in Monza and Misano: the #63 car in PRO driven by Vito Postiglione (ITA), Jeroen Mul (NL) and Alex Frassineti, and the #19 driven by Pietro Perolini (ITA), Ben Gersekowski (AUS) and Emanuele Zonzini (ITA) in Pro-Am.

Two races are still to be run, including the one in Vallelunga, and the final classification will take into account only the three best results therefore the round near Rome will be very important as it will confirm what lineups can aim to the title in the closing round at Mugello. Imperiale Racing will try to put in a solid performance to score points valid for the PRO classification with Postiglione-Mul-Frassineti and in Pro-Am with Perolini-Gersekowski-Zonzini.

The theatre of this sporting challenge will be the 4.085 meters of the Vallelunga race track, one of the most complete in Italy featuring fast as well as slower sections. The start/finish straight is quite short and leads into the flat out Curva Grande, up to the braking of the two Cimini bends. Drivers will go flat out again until the Campagnano and the Soratte that lead into the driven part of the circuit that features the Semaforo, Tornantino and Esse. The wide Roma turn finally rejoins the pit straight.

The racing program is slightly different than usual with three free practice sessions of one-hour taking place on Friday at 10:05 and 14:30 (GMT+2) and one on Saturday at 9:05. Three 15-minutes sessions will define the pecking order of the race on Saturday starting from 15:20. The three hours long race will get green lights on Sunday at 14:30.

The official website of the championship www.acisport.it/CIGT and the Facebook @CIGranTurismo page will provide the live streaming feed of the race that will also be accessible from Imperiale Racing’s website https://racing.imperialegroup.it and Facebook page @imperialeracing. The media coverage is still to be defined as the event will be covered by RAI Sport (CH 58 DTT), AutomotoTV (CH 228 SKY) and the main motorsport magazines.

Fans have the chance to register on the series web page and download the free ticket to watch the race live at the circuit.

Luca Del Grosso (Imperiale Racing, Team Manager):
“The weekend ahead is quite important. So far we run a good campaign in the Italian GT Endurance 2019 Championship with both cars, but considering that there are four races and three best results to be used for the classification there is no room for error. The challenge is going to be quite tough for both lineups: following the results in Misano we will have a 30s handicap time to be served by the #63 car, while the rivals of the #19 car in Pro-Am are very high level and will feature some highly-experienced lineups. We will need a strong team performance but we are motivated and positive for this new challenge”.
